Is it OK to tan if I am taking prescription medications? Some medications can increase your sensitivity to UV light. Please consult with your doctor before tanning.
-
Does tanning treat acne or psoriasis? If you are tanning for something different than cosmetic reasons, you should contact your doctor. Our mission is to give you a gorgeous tan and help you prevent sunburn.
-
Should I shower before or after tanning?Clean skin tans are the most beneficial. We recommend showering before tanning, but it is not required. Take off all make-up or perfume/cologne (with baby wipes supplied in rooms) before tanning, as they may cause sensitivity to UV light. If you want to shower after tanning, wait at least 2 to 3 hours. This gives the lotion time to activate and develop.
-
How often can I tan?We recommend tanning every other day. You can tan every day with 24 hours between each session to give your skin time to process the tan.
-
Why do I need to wear goggles if I cover my face with a towel?A towel only acts as a filter. It is required to wear FDA-approved goggles. Not wearing goggles can result in permanent eye damage. Eyelids are not solid enough to shield out UV light.
-
Can indoor tanning help me achieve a tan if my skin is sensitive to sunlight?Indoor tanning beds simulate the sun. If you cannot tan outdoors, it is unlikely that an indoor UV bed will tan you. Please visit us for a free skin type analysis to determine your skin's tanning potential. The Golden Rule of Smart Tanning is: Don't EVER overexpose. If you cannot tan in a UV bed, try sunless tanning. We are now offering Pura Sunless Spray Booth as well as Custom Airbrush. Achieve a cosmetic tan in just one session that will last approximately 5-7 days. Ingredients are Paraben free and 100% Vegan.
-
What should I wear when tanning?Remove all jewelry, watches, or anything metal before your tanning session. You may tan in swimwear, undergarments, or natural. Cover areas that have not been exposed to the sun or UV light for a portion of your session.
-
Is it safe to tan indoors? There are a few things that can be considered safe. There are risks from exposure to the sun or a sunbed, as written on our equipment and consent form. Our goal is to teach the proper tanning methods to help you get a cosmetic tan while minimizing your risk of over exposure.
-
Why do my lips get chapped when I tan?Lips do not produce melanin and can overexpose quickly. Protect your lips by applying a lip balm with SPF in it.
-
Can I use an outdoor tanning lotion? No. The ingredients in outdoor lotions will ruin the acrylics. Please ask an employee for help choosing the perfect lotion for you.
-
Why is my skin dry?Tanning does dry your skin. It is essential to keep your skin moisturized while tanning. Moisturized skin absorbs UV light, and dry skin deflects the UV light. We sell a variety of indoor tanning lotions and moisturizers to help you achieve your tanning goals.

Why won't the white spot on my tailbone tan? When tanning, make sure to allow air to get to your back. When lying entirely still some areas do not get oxygen and, as a result, will not tan. These areas are generally on pressure points.
